The new Millar Scuba 300m has just landed. I am so impressed overall.
SW200 movement, domed sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel, on the fly clasp adjustment just like a Doxa sub. The fit is superb with turned down lugs that makes the watch case hug you. Case finish is excellent with not too sharp angles and case edges. The milled clasp is sharp and positive and a little tight which will wear in beautifully. The sweep is smooth. Bracelet is a bit jangly given the gaps are wider, but this will avoid hair pull and increase breathability. Bracelet adjust is push pins, but they are incredible quality and a reassuring fit. Bezel has a little play, which allows for perfect alignment for the OCD of us. Bezel has a nice click sound and the bezel knurling is superb. Crown feel is okay, but I would have preferred a more assuring pop out after undoing it. Fabulous knurling on the crown. The crown has that rather annoying blue cover sticker that always proves difficult to get off, but the engraved branding on the crown is excellent.
The caseback is well laid out with Millar logo and contrasted finish. Crown guards are one of the best I've seen, that hugs the case lines really well. The dial has awesome lines with an uncluttered appearance with well thought out logo position and size. The date window I can take or leave. Handset looks great with differing lume layout which looks amazing, so lume shots to follow. Serial number 2, I'm so honoured and lucky. Kickstarter meant that it also came with a great 3 watch roll branded too.
